Old Gaming/Internet Lingos
What were some of the old gaming and internet lingos you used to say or hear a lot that were so hip and cool, but quickly become obsolete or uncool?
I'll start,
* Information Super Highway - it was like, wow, this term was so high tech
* PHAT - not really only game related, but I'll throw it in here. It is pronounced as "fat", means Pretty Hot And Tempting.
* LPB - Low Ping Bastard. FPS term, used to descript people with good connection and low ping to the server. Sub 100ms ping was "godly" when compared to typical 200ms+ from 56k phone modem connection.
* GoGoGo! - Diablo 2 term, used mostly by korean players. It basically mean rush to the destination, like "run" in GWs. "6 people diablo kill gogogo", "are you gogogo?" etc.

From telnet "talkers" (early form of IM). I hardly ever see anyone use ppl anymore. I throw it in chat once in a while just cause I'm being too lazy to type out people.

"SysOp" - for all-mighty, omniscient, omni-powerful board mod.
"ANSI" - Yeah, there used to be a name for colored text...
"...ga" - for "go ahead", used when chatting to say "I'm done with this sentence, respond now.", when we could actually type faster than the modem transmitted.
"K-lined" - kicked, booted, banned, don't come back...

Anything that had to do with BBS' and/or the various games... TW, BRE, LORD, Usuper, and many more.
Edit: Oh, also anything to do with MUDs, MOOs, MUSHes, etc. ... So much text-based goodness in the past. There were some really great games to be played.

"cookies"-reference to a basketball term. Used to denote a steal. Kinda like "I stole your cookies" but all you had to say was "COOOOKIES!!"

my dad used BS when he played online games a spell ago, although it was a different meaning then...............i still use PK, although not as much as i used it in Runescape (no advertising intended, please dont flame), here are other terms:
burnup: me and my friends made it up, it means to flamethrow a mob of enemies in an FPS
KD: knockdown, not really an old term, but my dad used it in an old game that had knockdowns
mfb: me and friends made this one up too, back in 1996 when i was 5, it means mother f***ing biatch (ya i knew some curses when i was 5, and yes i played games when i was 5 as well)

Ah the days of H/LPBs...

What?
And I'm surprised no one has done a/s/l yet. That used to be EVERYWHERE on every game. It's still used a lot today though not near as much as it was back then.
God that term always pissed me off. I could just picture a 12 year old person behind the monitor trying to pick up chicks on the intraweb and thinking he was cool shit and I wanted to smack him for being so damn retarded.
But then I had a cookie and that calmed the desire.
*insert obligatory 'a/s/l' question below me*

n00b - can be referred to newbie and can uncommonly refer to a [CENSORED] as well, for doing rediculous things on all games. This term started out on Anarchy Online when a few leets randomly use the term to annoy low level people... and possibly attacking them more than a higher level monster

Fard - Didn't actually make this one up, but its a condensation of words so that we can use it at work. Technically it means for a woman to put on makeup. But we use it as a condensed form of F**king Retard.(F**king Retard -> F**k Tard -> Fard) It makes all us IT guys laugh and if a manager asks, well, we were talking about his wife putting on makeup! :P
BFE: Always a classic, we used it in school to descibe the sophmore parking lot, lol
To many Starcraft/Warcraft II acronyms to mention, all you hardcore addicts know what i'm talking about.............mabye?
